Site was up, server DNS down. Dunno why. A bind restart sorted it out.

appears as DNS died alot of you folks could still access b3d because you had cached the host names. I love how B3D domain name points back to itself for the name server.

Domain Name: BEYOND3D.COM
Registrar: ONLINENIC, INC.
Whois Server: whois.OnlineNIC.com
Referral URL: http://www.OnlineNIC.com
Name Server: NS1.BEYOND3D.COM
Name Server: NS2.BEYOND3D.COM
Status: ACTIVE
Updated Date: 04-nov-2002
Creation Date: 31-jul-1998
Expiration Date: 30-jul-2005

Means if they change the IP of the nameservers you can't find out what the new IPs are.

(You need to be able to connect to NS1.BEYOND3D.COM or NS2.BEYOND3D.COM to get the correct IP for NS1.BEYOND3D.COM or NS2.BEYOND3D.COM so its a nice endless loop this thing is great for ppl wanting to hijack a domain).

Its our own leased server. The servername is actually "beyond3d.beyond3d.com" why is why we have the ns*.beyond3d.com name servers.

uh, for a while, I hit refresh every minute. :)

also, does some sort of cache or index thing need to be rebuilt? I'm getting no new post indicators, and some things are outright wrong (for example, it told me the last poster in a thread was someone who was not the last poster, but the last post came after the DNS server came back up or something). don't know, maybe I just need to log out and log back in again.

this could be the problem with the invisible "next page". There might be one more page, but it just doesnt show. You can manually add 20 to the current thread url, to get to the next page.

nope, replies were on the same page, just not appearing as new or something. seems to be okay now, though.
