Thanks for the link, very interesting to hear the Carmack say those things. :)
Already being discussed in the Rage topic on the PC board.
Also, in this climate, I can't say I disagree. Games are costing more and more money to make, and this only makes sense to me. Of course, there will always be a market for PC only games, but it's gonna be smaller from here on out, and mostly populated by classically PC franchises(Civ) or indies.

He also says something about focusing more on the PC versions of their games in the future does he not?

I can imagine birds eye view PC tactical game downscaled into a console game. The tactical aspect would be useful to evaluate different weapon loadouts , even gameplay scenario stuff. You could have the wreckages laying around later, and the console game would be the eventual aftermath. It'd give a whole different atmosphere than 'you are here and there, this & that happened , now QUIT TRAINING UR SENSES & GET BACK TO THE MAIN STORY LINE ' .

Yes he does. But that might change the story line, don't want to do that now do we :)

Heh, I wonder how close you are to the specs he mentioned. If that was the target for this release of Rage, the new line would be "can it run Rage". ;)
He sounds optimistic, or at least moreso than I remember him sounding at the start of this console generation.
