Unfortunately, I think not. Then again, maybe you would like Pirates of the Caribbean or Tomb Raider: AOD or Star Trek: Elite Force II?

One of my friends recommended homeworld: cataclysm. Fry's has it for $10. He also recommended Tropico(i think its only bundled with its expansion--its still cheap though).
I've been playing EVE online, and I'm not sure I really like it--even though I do play it all the time. I've found it to be more of a 'play the game and surf the web' kind of thing. Its kinda slow that way.

Homeworld: Cataclysm is a good game, but it does not have the atmosphere or playability of the original Homeworld.
Cataclysm does improved the graphics and control system from the original. Looks VERY nice at 1600x1200 with 4xaa.
Cataclysm was not done by the company that did Homeworld. They licenced it out.
Now I'm just waiting for Homeworld 2..... 8)
I'm playing earth and beyond but its extremly boring. I beta tested eve and it sucked a big one. Same with swg. Mabye i will actually play half life .
Hate to point out the obvious, but have you given Gothic 2 a shot? If you like RPGs at all you owe it to yourself to give it a try... :D
In what little time I have had the past weeks I've been playing a couple of "slightly older" games, ones I missed at the time they came out. Startopia from MuckyFoot is one of those and actually pretty fun. Definitely not something you get to play every day. Of course the almost Douglas Adams style humor also helps. Then there's Anachronox, which can be kinda odd and has sucky graphics by today's standards, but in a weird way there's actually a very good game (and a good movie) underneath.
Then there's this little gem called Galactic Civilizations, which underneath its deceptively simple looking hood, has an awesome game with one of the best AIs I've ever had the pleasure to conquer. ;)
As to recent releases, word has it that Ghost Master is quite good, but didn't give it a shot yet myself. Should be something for the Anti-Sims guy in all of us though...
And last but not least, WC3: Frozen Throne should be fun...

I keep hearing that, but I also keep hearing that the UK version Gogamer.com's selling is extremely buggy. Currently playing Arx Fatalis and loving it.

Arx Fatalis rules, the only thing I didn't like about it was that it ended so soon ;). Pirates of the Caribbean should be good as well, since Bethesda is involved (and its predecessor Sea Dogs was one of the most interesting games at that time).
Gothic 2 is great as well, though I can't comment on the english version since I finished the german original nearly two months ago :).
Personally I'm currently playing (and enjoying) the Bloodmoon expansion to Morrowind: it's longer than some complete games (20-40 hours) and you can finally relive the Daggerfall experience of playing a werewolf!

Have Bloodmoon to tie me over untill something good comes along.
Arx Fatalis eh?.........
Looks interesting...I think I'll try it :)
By the way, anyone know when Lineage 2 is coming out. Now that looks interesting!

Apparently so (was surprised to hear it as the much older German version had very few bugs), just read this in an Interview with Piranha Bytes:
GothicDot: Why, compared to the bugfree German version, the englich version of Gothic 2 has so many bugs, even though its game version is higher than the last German version (1.31 - 1.30) Will there be a patch for the english version?
Mike Hoge: The reason: Sloppiness, partly from us, partly from our publishers. We do apologize deeply for this. A patch will be released shortly we are just about to make it!
The orrect translation for the last sentence should have been "we're currently working on it" however...
edit: BTW, Arx Fatalis is also on my "games I missed when they came out but wanna play soon" list, I heard some very good things about it (and I loved UU!) and the demo I tried was pretty nice too.

What level did you reach by the end of Arx Fatalis? I'm on the 5th level of the crypt and just hit 6th level. I might do the werechicken easter egg quest for the 20,000 experience points it's supposed to give.
I played through the entire english gothic 2 with only a couple small bugs one being when you jump in water sometimes you get stuck but if you walk in no prob that happened a couple times but nothing really bad just like every game I save all the time so I wasn't effected in any way. Was one of the best rpg's I have ever played. Ofcourse I am kinda biased cause Gothic 1 is my other favorite
Gothic 2 is pretty good , FS2004 is awesome as well. The only warning I can give though , do not under any circumstances buy Tomb Raider. I can't even believe this game is released. It seems pre-beta.

There's already a patch out if you are having problems.
Is there anyone that isn't tired of Tomb Raider? I gave up on it halfway through the second game. If you are looking for something in that style to kill some time, BloodRayne is much better - gore, blades, sucking blood, bullet time, guns, nazis, vampires, and a cheat that increases the main character's bust size (don't ask me how I know). What more do you want?

I like tomb raider. The problem is they just tried to cash in by making to many games one right after the other with out taking a break and working on one really good one. We've had what 1 tombraider game for every 2 years since the game came out and at one point we had 1 game every 8 months or so. It got crazy. Add to it all the clones of the game and you got tomb raidered out.

I think I only reached level 8. I'm a very peaceful player ;).
Great new game out in the UK last weekend. SCEE's Eye Toy Play. Stand in front of your TV waving your limbs about like an idiot and play some fun little mini games.
It's right up there with Samba De Amigo and DDR for originality not to mention exertion!
Sony are going to start bundling the peripheral with the console soon as well.
Are there any similar titles availible for the PC?
hmm just found disc one of neverwinternights .. anyone know how many cds this thing has. They are prob all around my shore house. But an exact number might help. I completley forgot i had this tittle.

Three.
well i found two haha :-)
I have to confess to being rather surprised by the number of people I come across who genuinely like Arx Fatalis. Personally I thought it was the worst pile of tat I've ever had the misfortune to waste money on...
The plot is feeble, the script is truly dire, and the acting is bowel-twistingly awful (apart from the goblins saying "bugger off"); the combat system is reasonable though (if just a little dull). Graphically, there are glimmers of intelligent design and style, but it just feels far too empty and bland.
I guess it'll be a decent enough purchase once it hits the bargain bins but Jowood had some nerve releasing it as a "proper" game
