It seems that David Kirk (nVidia's Chief Scientist) has been touring Europe and so here are a few links to various answers to questions he has given. This is not very technical info but does give a few hints as to NV's future directions.

A ZDNet interview (http://zdnet.com.com/2100-1103-893116.html)

A column from The Inquirer about 2D image quality (http://www.theinquirer.net/29040212.htm) Does this show a change in the way nVidia work with board makers and wholesellers?

It does make me wonder about the value of such PR and if indeed it is so valuable why is it that other companies appear to have reduced the amount of public chatter? Sending your Chief Scientist 4000 miles to wander Europe surely signals an attempt by NV to further cement themselves in the European market/psyche.

David was also in Germany where he talked with the guys at tecchannel. They haven't posted the full interview yet, but already published these small bits:

David said nVidia will launch a "NVIDIA Certified Program" where only card manufacturers who built their cards according to nVidias specs get a nVidia certified logo they can use to advert their card.

They also reported that after the official interview ended David got even one step further and shouted that he knows none of nVidias partners who really uses the capacitors and resistors nVidia has specified.

Even if they all use nVidias reference design, no one uses the parts the design is intended for. Price pressure must be *really* big..
