Features:
- Accelerated encoding to MPEG-2 format with MPEG-2 video and LPCM or MPEG-2 layer 2 audio formats within Adobe Premiere Pro CS4.
- Accelerated encoding to H.264 format with H.264 video and AAC audio format within Adobe Premiere Pro CS4.
- The AMD Encoder Plug-in for Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 has not been tested on every possible hardware combination available in the market today. Beta release testing was performed using AMD Phenom tm processors, AMD 6xx and 7xx chipsets, and ATI Radeon tm 4800 Series GPU family products.
Operating Systems Supported:
The following Operating Systems have been tested to work with the AMD Encoder Plug-in for Adobe Premiere Pro CS4:
- Windows Vista® Ultimate (32-bit) and (64-bit) With Catalyst 8.56 or later.
The following Operating Systems have not been tested but are believed to work with the AMD Encoder Plug-in for Adobe Premiere Pro CS4:
- Windows Vista® Home Basic
- Windows Vista® Business
- Windows Vista® Enterprise
- (Both 32 and 64 bit).
The following Operating Systems are not supported with the AMD Encoder Plug-in for Adobe Premiere Pro CS4:
- Microsoft® Windows® XP (any version)
- Microsoft® Windows® Home Server
- Microsoft® Windows Server® 2003 (any version)
- Linux®
Known Issues:
- For MPEG-2 Blu-ray encoding, there are three presets which may give an error when importing into an Encore Blu-ray Mpeg2 project: 1440x1080p 24 High Quality, HDTV 1080p 24 High Quality, HDTV 720p 24 High Quality .This will be fixed in a subsequent update.
- For H264 Blu-ray encoding, there is one preset which may give an error when importing into an Encore Blu-ray H264 project: 1440x1080p 23.976 High Quality. Playback issue with HDTV 1080i 29.97 High Quality. This will be fixed in a subsequent update.
- You may experience quality issues with some h264 presets due to gpu enabling.
- File size may differ – occasionally the resulting encoded file may vary in size using the same properties.* The resulting file is valid and should show with no significant variation in quality.
- The scaler preset settings are not saved between encode settings.
- Text around which scaler to select is clipped when the settings window size is reduced. Future releases will offer more scaling options and will automatically convert the radio button options to a pull down menu for easier readability.
- Selecting 192 kbps for the audio bitrate sometimes generates 128 kbps instead.
- Please uninstall your old kit via Add / Remove Programs before installing the new kit.
- If your encoding requires that the video be scaled, the performance gains found with the accelerated encoder will be reduced by the impact of the scaler provided in Adobe Premiere Pro. We are working to find a resolution to this issue for a subsequent update. To achieve the best possible performance that this encoder is capable of achieving, encoding without requiring scaling is the best recommendation
Installing the AMD Encoder Plug-in for Adobe Premiere Pro Software:
1. Save the kit locally on your local PC hard drive.
2. Before continuing, make sure the following components are setup and working properly:
- A supported version of Microsoft Windows Vista
- Adobe Premiere Pro CS4: Version 4.0.1 (052 (MC: 160820))
- Adobe Media Encoder CS4: Version 4.0.1.078
3. Locate and run the setup executable
4. Follow all installation wizard steps
5. Locate and run the Adobe Premiere Pro or the Adobe Media Encoder application. When you are ready to trans-code your content you can select the AMD FAST Mpeg-2 encoder or the AMD Fast Blu-Ray Mpeg-2 encoder options in the list of available encoders.
General information
- Preset defaults may vary from encoder to encoder; users can adjust them as needed.
My question: Why is the installer so restrictive? A Déjà-vu (http://forum.beyond3d.com/showthread.php?p=1256525#post1256525)
