Hey everyone,

Just thought I'd open a thread on nVidia's Q1 2003 quarter ( results are to be announced in mid May ) - since I guess one might have opened later anyway.

Many things are to be remembered for this quarter:
- nForce 2 SPP impact. Mostly was IGP in Q4, according to nVidia.
- Lower XBox revenue forecasted by nVidia
- Lower margins, possibly slightly lower marketshare in the desktop GPU market
- They remain the "overlord" of the workstation market
- They probably kept their 20-25% marketshare in the Mobile GPU market, however the 9600 Mobile will probably make them lose marketshare in the coming quarters, that is until the NV36 Mobile comes ( that one better be good, or they're in big trouble for the Mobile market )

My forecast: Basic Profit: $0.21 per share

This is not based on any non-public information. And my financial knowledge is NOT very good, so it's probably a not-so-logical forecast. Not much worse than the analysts' one though, I guess.

"They probably kept their 20-25% marketshare in the Mobile GPU market"

Its not just 9600. Take a look at the Centrino announcments - there was a huge favour towards ATI's offerings over NVIDIA's, many of these were 9000 wins and NVIDIA hardly got a look in.

Icky, missed that one. I guess 15-20% is more reasonable then...
Maybe only $0.20 per share too, then...

EDIT, 2th of May 2003: Just for the record, I'm still expecting a net profit of $0.21/share for the first quarter.

Hmm, sounds like we'll know the results sooner than expected...

Seems like Nvidia didn't hit the 1.5 million chips' delivery.

Rothdeutsch said that based on his sales channel checks, it appeared Nvidia had missed its first-quarter 2003 target of shipping 1.5 million chips in the GeForce FX line in the April quarter by 10 percent to 15 percent.

0.12 cents per share. They beat earnings estimates but missed revenue estimates slightly.
