Here's the announcement: http://blogs.msdn.com/xna/archive/2007/04/24/xna-game-studio-express-1-0-refresh-released.aspx

Here's a more detailed changelog: http://blogs.msdn.com/xna/archive/2007/03/08/announcing-the-xna-game-studio-express-update.aspx

Finally native font rendering support, that was one of my pet peeves with the original release.

I downloaded XNA GSE and started fooling around with it. One of the first things I looked for was rendering text to the screen. Finding that missing, I decided it wasn't yet a 1.0 release and left it alone. I might pick it up again.

They have fully opened up vertex fetching now too, which means (for starters) things like instancing on the 360. Unfortunately no tesselator support yet, but it still will allow for some very nifty effects

The gamefest 2007 conference is going to have a few presentations on XNA Game Studio 2.0, and guess what is one of them:

"Networking with the XNA Framework"

Once again... Late to the party. Sorry.
I didn't see this had already been posted (http://forum.beyond3d.com/showpost.php?p=1046252&postcount=34) (I swear I searched for it first!)
