The GeForce FX 5800 Ultra performed best when running with 2x AA and 8x aniso filtering enabled (the nVidia-recommended settings). In Quake III at those settings, the nVidia card was almost 38 percent faster than the 9800 Pro, nearly mirroring the actual speed difference between the two cards’ cores. (The GeForce FX’s core is 32 percent faster than the core of our 9800 Pro sample.) But when we increased AA settings to 4x, the GeForce FX’s memory-bandwidth handicap actually made it 7 percent slower than the ATI card in Quake III.
I never knew that the Geforce FX was that fast :shock:

P.S. I have not read the full review in the magazine but I am guessing they were using the 42. series drivers and not the new 43. more or less non cheating version.
