For AGP?
Depends on what price you can find. The X1950 Pro is clearly the better card out of the two (image quality, and performance), but it might be more expensive.

I don't know that's true Skry, the 7800GS is not only hard as hell to find but insanely expensive when you do find it.
I'd go ATi. :)

Right at this point in time it seems that you can actually find the 512MB Sapphire X1950 PRO cheaper than the 256MB GS in many places.

The 7800GS is a AGP card. The AGP version of the X1950 Pro, at least from what I've seen in the states, is upwards of $300, not $200. That's why I said because of price.

Heck, I can't even find the X1950 Pro yet...but isn't it not supposed to come out until next week?

I'd say give it a few weeks for the cards to hit the shelves. I could have swore I read they were going to retail at $220us or so.

See Amazon's pre-order:

They have the Diamond 256MB for $239 and 512MB for $289. I believe the 256MB will stabalize around $219 and the 512MB for $259... Assuming they don't keep selling out.

That is what I'm counting on. I think we'll have an initial demand problem, but I hoping that with a sale these could crack $200 (256MB version). Even Amazon's Diamond 256 at $239 isn't bad considering how they've been screwing us in AGP land for a while. Sad.
I figure the x1950 Pro will let me extend my adequate AGP system another year. Nice. And then I can cascade my 6800GT to my secondary PC.... Extra bonus--I was getting ready to spend ~$100 to upgrade its video anyway so that will defer some of the cost.

Thanks for all the replys guys and sorry for the lack of information, it is the AGP version im refering to in regard to the 1950 PRO. Now the problem has been solved as i ordered a new GPU a couple of hours ago, i chose the ATI 1950 PRO because of 2 reasons :
1. Its cheaper then the 7800GS
2. In the reviews and benchmarks i have read in the last few hours its seem's that the 1950 PRO has a slight edge in performance over the 7800 GS.
It shall be arriving on thursday the 28th of December :)
