The readme mentions visual 'issues' with 40.x drivers, but don't say what. I get chars with skins that are totally screwed up. It also happens on some stationary object (like the half-eaten donut that can be found on the ship).

Also, the game crashes QUITE a lot...! I have absolutely ZERO faith in Sweeney and crew to be able to make stable code, Unreal was a total MESS for ages and it seems to be the same crap all over again with U2.

Anyone knows a good, stable driverset for winme that don't look like bird-doo in U2?

I was getting crashes with a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz with EAX enabled using a 9700, I found alot of people having the same issues..

Usually the crash would include some sound error. Disabling EAX seems to fixed all crashes with my system.
I then downloaded this sound patch to help with crashing and can now run with EAX enabled.

Yea, it appears that EAX has serious issues in Unreal2. I was getting Lots of crashes as well until I disabled EAX... which is stinky, because prefer playing with it enabled. :x

I have the patch installed, and the crashes happen when the game loads another level, no sound is playing at all! Also, Direct3D is totally borked after running this stupid piece of sheit wether it crashes or not (normal exit), re-running U2 makes it bomb out with another crash complaining D3D could not be initialized. Running Diablo2 instead hangs the computer completely!

GREAT WORK THERE GUYS! ONLY TOOK YA FOUR YEARS TO MAKE THAT PIECE OF CRAP OF A GAME!

It's painfully slow too, even at 640*480 with quincunx AA it runs like ass in a fight. And why does the game have night missions and NO NIGHT VISION GOGGLES??? Hello??? This is like, the FUTURE, guys! We got night vision TODAY even! Are all people on a constant medication of stupid pills in that game making them not wanting any night vision?

GhhaAAhhh!

I agree, it appears story line (why I liked MOHAA so much) appears to be lacking anymore on PC games...

Look on the bright side, pick up a 9700 and run with 4XFSAA smooth :D

semi-OT: That's rather weird. I played through the entire game and haven't had any issues with EAX-related crashes. Perhaps it's because I ditched the SB products and use the nForce2 SoundStorm audio?

Experienced it with a GF3.
The strange thing is that it doesn't occur with a GF4.

Just wanted to comment that as far as I can recall, 40.72 were beta drivers. They were made available at NVIDIA, but clearly marked as such. The latest release drivers are 41.09.
