I know, it's a little late...
The 3dhq (www.tdhq.net) 1.09 beta 8 driver set is out.
Get it here for 2k/XP (http://www.tdhq.net/voodoo/vs/vs-w2k-xp-1.09-beta8.exe) or here for 9x (http://www.tdhq.net/voodoo/vs/vs-w9x-1.09-beta8.exe).
A new Direct3D beta driver is included in the set, for better DX8 compatibility.
In related news: Unreal2 on a Voodoo5 5500! (http://www.tdhq.net/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=5;action=display;num=1044738565) Who says V5 is too old to run today's games?
Says Superbox:
- 800*600, 32 bit, 85 Hz, AA2x
- world texture detail = medium
- skin detail = high
- detail textures = on
- ragdoll detail = medium
- fluidsurface detail = low
- actor detail = medium
- decolayer density = 0
- particle density = 0
- view bob = 0.30
- dodging = 0
- shadows resolution = low
- max visible shadows = 0
- shadow cull distance = 256
- shadow trace distance = 128
- shadow enabled = on
Framerate is acceptable with the above settings (I mean the game is playable... 20-30 fps, I think), and here come two more shots (same settings, except for resolution):
Game crashes with shadows enabled, but other than that... :)
Added: Well I thought it was appropriate for the front. Oh well.
