View Full Version : FX non-Ultra price :(
http://www.nordichardware.se/nyheter/index.php?category=10&id=4937
that's ~564 Euros/ 610 USD
and that's for the non Ultra 400/800 version, just 5% cheaper than the Ultra version
I wonder what a 256 MB Ultra version will be (seems as if some manufacturers will sell those)
I hope it's just a typo

Think im getting a R350 based card then. Those prices are insane.
-Neutrality-
Remember those prices are for Europe. The USA prices are significantly lower.
But I'm still seriously thinking about getting a GFFX Ultra, as long as the price isn't higher than 600 Euros

I don't know many European pals that would give damn about US prices if they can get here competitive, maybe a bit slower product with in half a price of GF FX. Europe has as much potential buyers as in the US so huge retail pricing difference is like giving up 50% of potential buyers in market situation like now.
on systems like mine, it does not matter which one you buy: from Radeon 9700 non-pro to GF FX Ultra all are as fast. Of course I think that when updating CPU and propably motherboard, it would be nice if I could get some more extra power without changing GFX card so scalablity matters for me.
I went with 9700 non-pro. System is 1700XP+ on SDR (KT133A) platform, 512 MB PC-133 and Samsung & Maxtor 40GB HDDs.

Remember, a significant proportion of this sites readership are European.
About the price, the main point was: the Normal version and the Ultra version have the same damn price.

yep. It is easy to say that ATI has pretty good year ahead at least on Nordic Countries.
ok. Here are the FX-prizes from Finland.
PNY VERTO GEFORCE FX 5800 128MB DVI+VIVO => 04.02.2003 515 €
PNY VERTO GEFORCE FX 5800 ULTRA DVI+VIVO => 04.02.2003 569 €
Damn. And I thought 9700 PRO was over prized..
Dave:
Yes, there's a lot of European readers here. But the prices discussed here are usualy from US. So it gives those prices an extra shock-factor.
Just as a comparision. I looked around at a few Swedish web-stores, and the R9700PRO web-prices are in the range $400-$550. Prices in RL-stores are higher.

Yes, but there's little point in discussing US proces for those outside of the US, which I think if you look at this thread, most are.

My magic IP button tells me...
Umm... I have a European car!
I am not looking forward to prices down here. It will definitely be over $1000 AUD for the Ultra initially. Yay competition! :roll:
Those European prices are too insane. Even the US prices are insane. They both make me glad I jumped on getting an ATI 9700Pro for $230 US a month ago.

and my belly button says it's time take a bath ( read: time to visit a Sauna.) ;)
okay, okay... I admit that was bad one... a very bad one. :lol:
Here in Finland 9700 costs about 300 e, 9700 PRO 400 e, All-in-wonder 9700 500 e. I just burchased Hercules 9700 and the prize was ~300 e. So even the non-ultra model FX is 100 e more expensive than 9700 PRO.
And from overclockers point of view 9700 is the best choise. But still, you would have to be a true nvidia-fanatic or rich if you are willing to spent over 500 euros to graphics card. The non-ultra model would be attractive product, if the prize would be near 300 e.
I sincerely hope that the prizes will drop significantly when shipments will finally start.
