This is like 3rd or 4th hand information but it is legit.
Thanks to Osiris at the junkerhq forums.
This appears to be a recording session for the E3 trailer. Here's a picture that was taken.
http://www.blog.konami.jp/gs/img/hidechan/hidechan42_01.jpg
From left to right: Campbel (Aono Takeshi)l, Otacon (Tanaka Hideyuki), Meryl (Terase Kyoko), Liquid (Ginga Banjo), Kojima, Naomi (Tsuru Hiromi), Snake (Otsuka Oi) and Raiden (Horiushi Kenyu).
In the Hidechan they did, Kojima dropped a lot of storyline info, but they conveniently bleeped it out afterwards. Stuff like:
I think people will be surprised when Snake *bleep* at the end.
The reason Campbell is so old is because *bleep*.
The reason Snake has his attacks is because *bleep*.
From the way the actors were talking, the visuals sound pretty damn good, especially the facial expressions. Kojima said they were done by hand, and will get even better as time goes on when they use motion capture. When he said they'd get even better, they all sounded even more surprised.
They play a little roll of Snake talking at the beginning and the end. It sounds like it might be in the trailer. I know I had it around here somewhere...
This is a piece of the dialogue from the trailer.
"The face of war has changed. It moved from a policy of determent to all-out control, and with this, the threat from weapons of mass destruction disappeared. The control of the battlefield also meant the control of history. The face of war has changed. With the control of the battlefield, war became eternal."
- Solid Snake.
To throw this in from Murata's old blog
- Original TGS trailer was only intended to be 10 seconds long. It was to show Snakes new model. It was just him standing up with his bandana waving in the wind.
- Kojima decided while putting that trailer together that he wanted to include alot more and so the trailer went from 10 seconds to 9 minutes.
- Otacon's final model differs greatly from his TGS model.
- Textures were a rush job to get completed.
So looks like MGS4 will make a decent apperance at E3.
Thoughts?

I think people will be surprised when Snake *bleep* at the end.
The reason Campbell is so old is because *bleep*.
The reason Snake has his attacks is because *bleep*.
The uncensored version:
I think people will be surprised when Snake beats off at the end.
The reason Campbell is so old is because he was born in the 1800s.
The reason Snake has his attacks is because they both went to the same kindergarten.
So, there you have it guys. You read it on the internet, hence it's true! Now go spread the word to all the other forums out there...
*AHEM*
Erm, sorry about that. Thanks, it was a cool post, though I guess a bit pointless perhaps, because if it isn't legit then it's all bunk, and if it is legit, then it's just stuff which we will learn within not too long anyway...
Is this typical of Japanese group photos, with the women on their knees and the men standing over them? ;)

Sorry.. couldn't resist...
Sony won't show PS3 at E3 (http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=30919)
The Inquirer quoting Spong.... Classic...
Sony apparently only wants people to see its machines in tightly restricted conditions, preferably back lit or under a very heavy table cloth.
A heavy table cloth over the PS3's?! Sony wants to set the whole show ablaze!

Wow, that Inquirer article is terrible! It doesn't even accurately relay what Spong was reporting, as (melo)dramatic as it might have been in the first place.
Anyway, good to hear the wheels are in motion toward another sight of MGS4 at E3 :)

Wow a new trailer for a game that won't be released until the end of 2007.How exciting!!!
Let's see what will actually be playble for the ps3 at E3.
Oh and thank God that ,judging by the sales of MGS3,the franchise's popularity has really fallen. It took how many price cuts exactly for MGS3 to reach 1 million in the U.S???I got to admit that it has a huge fanbase on the internet though (that will proclaim MGS4 game of the century or something).

MGS3 was a very strong game though, it's hard to say how much of the low sales was due to backlash over the very dissapointing MGS2. MGS3 may have really re-invigorated the series, we'll have to wait and see.

Oh so now selling a million in the U.S. is bad? I betcha MS would love to have this game series exclusive on the 360. So how many units do you think MGS4 needs to sell to continue the series? 5 million?

Plus MGS3 went head to head with the likes of Halo 2 and San Andreas, among others. So it did well on it's own right. And if Kojima and the team could bring something close to the MGS2's E3 showing at this years E3, then expect MGS4 to become one of the most anticipated PS3 game.
I really hope they show something big at E3. I heard Raiden is all buff up. Something to look forward to, right london? J/k.

well apperently mgs 3 se sold over 3,6 million units , well that's not bad although last 2 mgs games sold over 6 million.

it is because of the hight difference. no biggy.
but what is a different cultural difference is that women open the door for men over there. you might thing about it negatively, but if you know the reason, it makes perfect sense.
you see, it is an old tradition. women open the door for men because they had to have thier hand on the sword (katana) and be ready in case there was an assasin in the hous/room (ninja).

If MGS4 were to release in 2007, tell me, whats the difference between that and showing a trailer of Gears of War at 2005's e3? Frankly to me, after playing MSG1-MSG3, and putting in some heavy hours on all of the games, Kojima has gained my respect to show anything he damn well pleases at any time he wants. :D
I cant wait for more of MGS4 imo. E3 is going to be a blast. Thx for the news mckmas8808.

I was thinking the same thing.
However, some gameplay would be nice. :)

MGS4?Not exciting? Its MGS4. A sequel to a masterpiece. Made by a genious that is Kojima. Thats enough excitement
I dont recall you complaining about GOW being shown a year before its released.
Thank God its popularity have fallen (according to you ofcourse)?
*sheesh*
No comment on that.

How long was the period until they sold that much though?
Also we should bare in mind that MGS2 was released when the PS2 was still fresh so it was a state of the art achievement while MGS3 was released recently near the end of the PS2's cycle.

Most notable for game enthusiasts was the addition of Red Steel (Ubisoft's upcoming Nintendo Revolution exclusive) to a session that already had Metal Gear Solid 4 and Gears of War listed.
Demoing each of the games are their respective creative leads: Hideo Kojima (shown above, center) will personally demo Metal Gear Solid 4 on the PlayStation 3, Cliff Bleszinski (left) will take the reins of Gears of War on the Xbox 360, and Ubisoft Paris boss Xavier Poix (right) will show off Red Steel.

The press will be at these conferences. Regardless, the trailer will be on the showfloor. Kojima doesn't make trailers for small audiences.

There might be demo at this session, but my guess it'd be more like the TGS demo (i.e. "swing the camera around, look at the prettiness") rather than someone playing through a little of the game. The trailer may have some gameplay bits in it though, who knows.

i hope kojima doesnt add a ladder or river level like he did in mgs3 (the ladder level i am referring to is not really a level, but it feels like it could have been one considering it took like 5 minutes to climb without adding to the story)...they just seemed like filler

I can't wait to see how MGS4 is looking, with perhaps the most talented development team in the world working on one of the most powerful consoles in the world.
Dunno if this is new or not, but here's a realtime demo of MSG4 on ps3 devkit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSDudPTOznE

The only proven game/franchise of that bunch is MGS.

MGS4 = 10% game play and 95% B-Movie-campy-dialogue-garbage. Don't worry, Kojima will figure out a way to squeeze in an extra 5% of campyness.
GOW = great graphics and monotonous repetive game play and crappy animation. Sorry, I’ve never enjoyed an Epic game.
Red Steel = A game struggling with a new controller. Hence, spending more time on controller and less time on game. Why do people always get excited about the first game introduced for a system?
I'm more excited about Mass Effect and Metroid Prime 3 at E3. Actually, I can't wait to see what PS3's controller will look like.

Can't wait to see new material from MGS4.
Hope this time it will be a proper trailer with exciting cutting and direction with HGW music. The last trailer, while it looked good was a bit boring.
Hopefully we'll see more of the environments the game is taking place... where else does the game take take place than in the Middle East setting in the firs trailer...
Nope just something I read, I guess we'll see in a few days.

Reportedly the first 90 seconds of audio from the E3 trailer will be broadcast on Hidechan radio (Kojiima's podcast) this Friday. So that might give us an early teaser as to what to expect, although I imagine it'll spark all kinds of crazy speculation. Imagine just hearing the first 90 seconds of audio in the TGS trailer and trying to figure out what the heck was going on ;)

Well, the first 90 seconds of the TGS trailer was the FPS perspective, nothing but gunfire and the occasional grunting. Can you imagine the speculations that would have come out of that audio bit? Some intrepid people could possibly add in a video just for the hell of it, hence the audioshop.
