Just got the news here at GDC myself.. this is big and a really good buy for NVidia. The Hybrid guys are extremely good at what they do.

I wonder what happens those few patents that are co-owned between Hybrid and Bitboys...

Hmmm. this document (http://www.hybrid.fi/main/download/documentation/hybrid_framework_prodsheet.pdf) (1.8M pdf) on Hybrid's homepage states (page 5): Hybrid Core is the device driver for several embedded 3D hardware offeringswhich sounds like Nvidia now has seized control over the drivers :!: of at least some of its competitors in this market segment. It will be ... interesting to see what the fallout of this will be.
