I'm not sure I get the link with consoles... I don't think IBM was a supplier for the Xbox, was it ? ;)

Anyway I've an IBM hard drive and I'm happy with it, but I know this is not everybody's case in particular some of my friends had a hard time with theirs...

Well the Microdrive was being considered and/or talked about for the GCN last year. Now that Hitachi has the rights to the technology maybe we'll see a cheap Microdrive for GCN...maybe an announcement?

I have a 20GB IBM disk that has worked incredibly well for years and survived such a mechanical tortures that I was ready to write it off after each of them. Best disk I ever had, and by far.

I've had a couple of DeskStars crap out on me. Too bad because IBM had some of the best performing drives and very fair prices.

Anyway, my problems with the IBM discs have made me kinda paranoid in this regard so my last HDD, a Barracuda IV, got its own cooler. No problems so far.
