I was kind of surprised to see this on ATis' new site. http://www.ati.com/ Looks like they are taking up nvidias marketing techneques. Smart move really. Anyhow I thought that this was interesting. 8)

Sure, the 8500 is on top these days on the sidebar at Madonion (though why the Geforce4 isn't there I have no idea). ATi might as well cash in while they can.

An 8500 is 2147% faster than this Trident Blade 3d at work.

ahah my P200 and Voodoo Banshee couldn't run the tests :)
It would be funny if Ati's old Rage chip had problems with the test too.

The graph said an ATI Radeon7500 would be 249% faster than my ATI Rage 128 pro. Ironically, I recieved an ATI Radeon7500 via Fed Ex today My current 3Dmark score is 1134. I'm going to install the 7500 and see if my new score is 249% faster.
Crap, according to that Analyzer, a Radeon 8500 would be 159% faster than my overclocked GeForce4 Ti4600 I'm using now. I knew it! Playing my games at 1600x1200 w/4x FSAA is too slow, I need to get me a R8500!
I'm genuienly impressed. My score with the 7500 is 3023. Not the 249% faster that was expected, but not too bad. Now I wish I could run RTCW with AA on 64 person servers with fps above 10.
The ATI analyzer was wrong because my actual performance increase with the 7500 was over 350%!

I think your probably reading that wrong their, when it says 159% your card is taken as 100%, so that means the 8500 is 59% faster not 159% faster.
I tried it with my Kyro II and was suprised to find it quite accurate (well accurate from a 3dmark2001 point of view anyway) and even a little modest too as far as 3dmark2001 goes. It said that a Radeon 8500 would be 140% faster in my system, I get 3200 with my Kyro II and when I had a 8500 in this system I used to get around 8000 (I think it was 8200 actually) which is just over 150% faster then 3200. Not such a bad performance analyzer really, unlike the Nvidia one which says I will get a big speed increase if I replace my Kyro II with a Geforce 2 MX200
