After looking at these scans of Virtua Fighter 5 there is absolutely no way the GPU inside the LINDBERGH is a 6800, has to be the new G72. That's why on the official spec sheet all it said was - "Nvidia GPU" and it never went in to specifics on which GPU or in depth to any of it's specs aside from the fact that it does PS/VS3.0. Obviously as the chip hasn't been unvieled Nvidia didn't want any info it being released.

Looks like nVidia unified shader solution with SM4.0 to me. How else can they get that realistic moire patterning?

Wow ! those screens are nice ! You can see the veins and the extreme details on the catcher character.
The lighting seems to be really well implemented.

Its a 256 MB 7800 GTX maybe higher clock with dual slot cooling solution, there is no reason to put a 6800 in there. 7800 is cooler and performs better than 6800.
I doubt its G72, since Lindbergh was showcase around 7800 announcement.

These scans completely suck, and anyone using them to compare image quality to some other game on some other platform and believing this game comes out on top is surely smoking some heavy dope. Coz these scans really suck.

yeah it look real cool when they show a close up of the fighter but.... the thing is some of next gen games like this one dont look that good when you are playing with the standart camera position.Look at the shots when there are two fighter and the scenery in the back(like classical 3d figher camera position), those shots dont look that much better looking than tekken 5 .

Everything that you see in those scans are in-game realtime.
There is no CG in use anywhere.

I agree that at this time that thats the only deffinitive in-game pic that we have but I think that the scans shown are in-game shots of the Arcade version of VF5. Also, I want to state, that the pre-rendered pic you posted absolutley rocks.

Sidenote: Wasnt it here in Beyond3d where people saw PDZ scans just before X05 and said how real it looked. that was until the ingame footage....

Has anyone seen the Kata for the monk in VF4 running on NAOMI 2? It looks awesome so I expect VF5 with powerful shaders to look even better.

Characters do look different, the skin color are more akin to VF3. Head body proportion are different. Though the overall design are from the original VF1. Stages are improved as well.

She looks much more feminine in VF5 (which is a good thing). The lighting, texture of the clothing and levels all look better in VF5 (which is expected of course).
Some new info from Sega Private Show on VF5.
Each Characters will have 2 costumes and a variation of each one.
Items customisation has been exapanded to create more unique looking characters.

VF4 characters had very bad model design. Characters were smooth and detailed but proportions were silly. It is nice to see VF5 character models have better proportions.
