UT2003 Inferno 1024x768: Max FSAA Max Aniso:
GeForce 4 Ti 4600 (306/660): 8 fps
Radeon 9700 Pro (325/620): 75 fps

hehe nice huh ;)
almost ten times as fast

i get over 81fps at 1024x768 + 6xFSAA and 16xAF with my Radeon9700PRO @ 400/760Mhz :D :D :D


and over 91fps with 8xAF and 4xFSAA

UT2003 HATES Aniso though ;)

16x Quality Aniso has a MUCH worse performance hit than even 4x FSAA

something I'm definatly not used to as a Radeon owner ;)

What FSAA did you use on the GeForce4? 4xS?

What FSAA did you use on the GeForce4? 4xS?

Yup.

It had worse edge AA and similair texture quality so I'd call it pretty even. (From an end users perspective: what's interesting is the final result not the technique behind it IMHO.)

With plain and simple 4x FSAA (for both cards) and 8x Aniso the result is:
9700 Pro: 80 fps
Ti4600: 20 fps
