+1. $30 for insurance? MS almost assuredly offers 12mo warranty (I know Nintendo does!)
2. Some of those games are gunna suuuck! And you are paying full price for them! hahaha

Sorry, that is just fuuuuny! Waaaay overpriced!

Now if they were offering the Xbox 360 a month early for any Joe who ponies up $1200 that would be one thing... but OVER retail price... hahahaha!

What's the "play and charge kit"? Is it the USB cable to attach wireless controllers to the system to charge the battery pack?

If so, why the hell isn't this cable included with either the controller OR the battery pack? Fucken money-scammers, how the hell is one supposed to charge the battery pack if the cable to do it is yet another separately sold item? Jesus H. C... They apparantly weren't kidding when they said they wanted to make a profit this time 'round.

Na read the bundle

It comes with the xbox 360 premium and a second wireless controller

THey are only selling u a plug and play kit and then a wireless battery .

SO you have a second controller with one battery right ? Nope casue one comes with the plug and play kit

So in the bundle your getting a battery for both controllers. I think its better to just buy 2 plug and play kits . Figure 40$ for 2 chargers and 2 batterys that way

Why would someone buy 10 games all at once, if there's no savings to be made?! I like focusing on one game at a time, and i'd understand if they said "get 10 games for $40 instead of $50!" But this isn't like that.

These bundles prices, at US retailer, are getting out of control... A $1.2K bundle? They got to be kidding.

I was thinking that forcing a bundle of a Console + a game on a consumer was too much...
But 11 games + accessories? Insanity reigns supreme over Gamestop headquarter, it seems.

The worst thing about that bundle is, six out of those 10 games doesn't interest me in the slightest, and I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels that way.

Is that EVERY launch game they bundled up like that, or will there be others that actually weren't included? ;)

london-boy
25-Aug-2005, 10:02
... and why have 10 launch games?! So that 6 months down the line you can say to your mates "hey look at me, i've got the 10 worst games on X360!".

Not saying all those games will be crap, but launch games are hardly ever remembered as good games. 2 or 3 from that list might be ok.

Well I know when i was in college we got a little over a month for x mass break . So u figure the system would come out about a month before that . That would be enough time for one or two games with class work. Then figure you have a month of nothing to get through 8 more ? That is do able .

Anyway there are already 2 reserves for it . WE were astounded when the dm called us

Are you saying that these bundles are available at your store? Are they forced or optional?

Dumb Question; when you say theyr'e "forcing" these bundles on us, does that mean that my Gamestop 360 preorder just got screwed with yet again? I sincerely hope theyr'e still offering the 399.00 version that I'm still scraping up pennies for. Please tell me I'm a moron for even considering this as a possibility.

NO those are website only . We got a call from our district manager telling us how insane he thought that someone actually reserved these through the website .

At gamestop stores u just have to preorder the system. They figure if your in the store picking up the system your most likely buying games and controllers and what not there also .

Gamestop.com and ebgames.com do no make money off the system and thus they want to insure that you buy money making items from them. This is how the bundle pack was formed.

They really need a "build your own bundle" option where you get to select your 2 to 5 games.

The play & charge kit is the cable + battery pack.

The wireless controllers by default use AA batteries.

If the bundle's don't save you any money just buy the console and whatever games you want. To me the only reason for bundles is to save people money from the full cost, getting them to spend more than they would otherwise.

Not everyone who can buy stuff like that is rich. 10 years ago, I would have bought it, even though I was working at a job making only $12 per hour. I was single, I lived in a very low-rent apartment, my car was paid off, no credit debt, the only thing I had to pay for was $350 per months in rent, gas, food, electricity, phone, and cable TV bill.

I was only making about $25k per year, but I had an easy $10k per year of luxury money. It's more of a matter of your situation than it is the amount you earn.

Yeah..but the way I'm thinking is...you could buy a used car, 61" HDTV or a down payment on an apartment etc etc ...and the fact that it seems very excessive makes it more unbelievable (who wants to get all those games...I wouldn't even have the time).

Well, I don't really need a bundle, but it's obvious that some retailers are going to milk the initial release by requiring bundles. So if the retailer has a bundle with the actual games I was going to buy anyway, then it doesn't matter if I don't save any money.

It´s ridiculous how much money people spend on launch systems. I usually just get the core system, a memory card and a game 8 months or so after it has launched.:p

At least I already have my memory card for PS3 (256MB SD card). :D

No, the ohmygod bundle is released a year after console debut, it has ALL of the good launch games ("xbox360 classics") and THREE EACH of all the crappy unsellable launch titles ("to give away to your friends for christmas!").

You are forgetting that a lot of places will be charging well above MSRP at launch. If you actually want all the crap it probably isn't a horrid buy compared to picking up an XBox360 for $700 on ebay on launch day.
