I just read on the MSI website (my card manufacturer) that the nVidia reference drivers do not support TV OUT, even though it's listed (albeit greyed out) on their properties control panel, AND ALL the Geforce4 cards have TV out
so.. basically is this true?? Does nVidia not support TV out with their reference drivers at all??
The TV out of my GeForce 4 Ti 4200 is working fine... I'm using the reference driver 40.72. However, it seems that nView has to be enabled.
By the way, the TV-out option is grayed out before you connect it to a device (such as a TV).

Okay I just got it upgraded to the 40.72 drivers but I still can't select TV.
I have it connected to the TV function and when I click DETECT DISPLAYS I can see the TV flicker, however, the TV OUT option is still displayed.
In regards to nView, only setting I can choose is Standard (nView disabled).
How do I enable it?? I only have one monitor and I want to have TV out but I only have the nView option STANDARD (nview disabled) and clicking DETECT DISPLAYS never lets me choose TV out :(
I'm afraid that I have no idea about your situation then... :(
In my case, clicking "Detect Displays" enables all selections for choice.

well no worries.. while I still can't get it to work this way, I CAN get it to work if I unplug my monitor and just start it off with the tv out plugged in.. then TV out works and THEN nview works.. no biggie :) thanks for the help anyway

I have a question, do any video cards or near future video cards support component video out so that I can play PC games on my HDTV and actually have them look as good as on my monitor?

I think you can buy an adapter for some of the ATI cards to give you component out but I am not certian about that (Since I live in the UK a long way from the nearest HDTV  )

ATI offers a component video out adapter for the Radeon 8500 series of cards.
As I understand it, the R300-based cards support component out natively.

Ati offers the adapter for AIW RADEON 8500 DVI-I HDTV COMPONENT ADAPTER $29.00 whisc also works on the 9700 and 9500. Many High definition televisions offer dvi input which is fairly common in most of the new cards on the market and should offer a superior image over Component.
