It looks great doesn't it. It looks exactly like the PS2.
Edited: It should work now.

Can't see those videos, but another one showed that the T&L was reduced a little from the Dreamcast/Arcade versions. Shadows weren't being cast from multiple light sources.
Person A: Wow! Look at this game for [insert console name]. It's awesome!
Person B: That sucks! It looked much better on [insert console name].
I sure wish we could all just grow up a little. These are GAMES, people. Not your family or country. Sheesh!

i'll agree with the shadows, but the animation seams to blend a bit better on the psp, and the lighting on the characters looks nicer. overall, it does look good, apart from the clipping issues. VT is a game i could actualy bring myself to spend ful price on, assuming they have game sharing built in so i can play with a friend.
There's no point in expressing superficial cheers or jeers. That response was an analysis of the footage and a continuation of the commentary on its closeness to the home console versions -- qualified with specific example -- and not some unsupported attack.
The animation in the DC/arcade original was always noteworthy for its near perfect fluidity, and the PSP version looks no different. I don't think they've added any new animation system. The lighting still looks all vertex level, but it doesn't seem as nice on the characters, actually, because they aren't tesselated with as much geometry as the DC/NAOMI originals.

?? i'm not allowed to express my excitement about virtua tenis in a virtua tenis thread?
Sorry, that was addressing Kolgar's comment. The next paragraph continued the main discussion.

i don't know about those models, they look pretty close to me (polygon wise). the textures are lower detail than the DC version from what i've seen. as for the lighting, i don't think it's better from a technical standpoint, it just looks like there's more contrast in the lighting, making it stand out a bit more.
You really need to ask the devs. People have funny memories and bias can tinge their perception - I remember on one forum, a guy swore black and blue the wheel rims on Le Mans on Dreamcast were 3D, but 2D textures on PS2 version - until the guy who MADE the textures for both versions came onto the forum and clarified that they were identical, and nothing had been changed.

That might also just be a difference in the RAMDAC setups and display gamma characteristics of the PSP+LCD vs DC+TV.

PSP+LCD vs DC+TV.
my DC is hooked to (through a vga box) to a 17" crt. i honestly haven't played VT on a tv in well over a year.
it could very well have to do with the display, though.
