I don't know if anyone else has picked up Time Splitters 2 yet but it is amazing! The multi player is just incredible and you can have upto 10 bots with 4 player split screen. It also has a few innovations such as turrets that you control from a computer inside your base. There's also tons of things to unlock. I found a mini game for the little hand held device called Anaconda AKA snake for the Nokia Cell Phones. I'm only at the third level so I can't really say how the single player is but it's not bad by any means I'm just not sure if it's amazing.

If only Bungie had had a seemingly non-existant deadline when making Halo, instead of having to completely redesign and rebuild the game for an incomplete platform in less than 11 months.
TS2 is ok. Never liked the feel of Goleneye and PD, so I don't really like the feel of TS2.

its awesome, I am so happy to hear for once a company can make a multiplatform game, and get all three versions perfect.
Yeah, I've been hearing nothing but amazing things about TS2 - was going to start a thread about it, just never got around it it... so thanks!! Is it really as polished of a game as rumor has it?

Relax, XBox is getting TS2 aswell  I just love how a thread about TimeSplitters2 has "If only Bungie..." in it. Why can't people just appreciate it as an awesome game - one that we can all play and enjoy no matter the developer or platform.

I'm now on the 5th level and it's kind of tuff you have to follow this woman in to a base with out getting to close to her. Each level seems to be getting harder as I go along, right the levels are pretty short though. I also just found an option called challenges which are basically challenges set in teh actual levels. For instance the first and only one I've done was where I had to break all of teh windows at the beginning of the Siberian level, you then get awards (Gold, Silver, and Bronze) for completing it in a given amount of time and they do tell you the times you need for each medal. I got a Silver and it unlocked a cheat. The game does seem pretty polished at this point and Neo Tokyo is a very cool looking level.

Hey, way to mutilate and then spit on the meaning of my post. I was just reminising about how sweet it would have been if Bungie could have pushed back the dead-line for Halo as much as they wanted like Free Radical(?) did with TS2.
You really have an Xbox stuck up your butt about everything and everyone, don't you prick?

I'm gonna buy TS2-GCN some time in the next week or two, hopefully (next Saturday at the very latest). Good to hear it's that good :)
By the way, I love GE and PD :)

Well, Bungie was making Halo for what looked like an eternity. It's not our fault that they've redesigned game concept 5 times during that timeframe :\
Besides that, I think Halo is much better FPS game than TS2. TS2 just felt so mediocre overall, to me.

Yeah. TS2 is nothing special. It's a solid 8/10 game though.

Halo >>> TS2
TS2 can't really compare imo. Multiplayer is pretty decent tho

Keep in mind that TimeSplitters is built almost entirely around its multiplayer... it isn't built for great single player.
HALO's pretty much the other way around (not that HALO has poor MP, but it isn't even close to GE/PD/TS in that aspect)...
Argh. TS2 isn't out yet in Norway :( Can't wait for it.
I just loved TS1 and this is way better right?
What's your favourite weapons in TS2?

Halo has far better single player, but TS2's multiplayer owns just about every other console shooter out there, its endless, the amount of options and replayability is endless, if your looking for single player only, Halo rips it a new one, but when you factor most people will spend more time on the multiplay, TS2 is the Shiznett.
Cept if you have broadband and Gspy Tunnel, then Halo rips on TSx :D

the amount of players arent what makes it, its the amount of options, TS2's more choices than you can even count, and the level editor, give it far more longevity, Halo's Multiplay is good, but most would agree with me that goldeneyes multiplayer was better, for the great level design, and, again, all of the options, nothing has had that many choices since, well, until now, TS2..

GE had better level design? :o
The only thing better about GE level design is that it was geared entirely towards 4 player play. Where as with Halo even the smallest maps are a little large for anything less than 6 players.
But as for GE/PD's multiplayer being better over-all... Man, I'm not touching that. :P

I did 3 player with 10 bots and it never slowed down once so speed isn't a problem. Personaly I hate Halo's Multi-Player, I refuse to play it unless there are at least 6 players.

:o :o :o OMG I'm buying this game right now!!! This must be multiplayer heaven... on consoles anyway.

I beat the game on easy and I must say that I wasn't that impressed, but then I went back and played the Siberia level on Medium and it was alot different. There were more cameras, Snipers at the top of the damn and alot more objectives, it was harder but alot more fun. Also in the Arcade league on amateur on the very last one of everything does anyone know what you're supposed to do?

Just got the GCN version last night... FUN!
I love the flame thrower effects ^_^
I've been playing quite a bit the last few days.
One of the FEW times I will play a FPS on a console. It is painful to play with out a keyboard and mouse. Very painful.
But the game is still fairly fun.

What the heck is one supposed to do in NeoTokyo?! Me and Chris spent over fourty bloody minutes trying and retrying that level over... and over... and over... he got through the force field once, but then the dude in the Jin-Gasa saw him and the Hacker girl heard the fighting and stopped :(
Oh well... blargh... level design is fantastic though :)
By the way, the map maker rules all! :D Except that it is SEVERELY restricted by storage. Oddly enough, the maximum size a level can be is WAY smaller than a real level, which means that there's plenty of RAM left for more real estate... but they limited the space to TWO BLOCKS on the GCN memory card. 2 blocks! That's tiny even on an MC59... and who uses THOSE any more? :( I keep wanting to add more and more to levels but then I get that stupid bloody out of memory message, then I have to take away from the level's layout to accomodate the weapon and ammo locations :( Frustrating, but still fun...

tang, as soon as you get past the forcefield, duck into the door on your left, and use the camera thats in there, look for her laptop on a desk in one of the rooms, when you find that, stay on it, when she accesses it, it will say GET HACKERS PASSCODE COMPLETED, once it says that, your free to blast away

you can't be to close when you sneak in though. Also when you do it on Co-Op have someone stay at the camera to use the automated gun.
Yes, great game.
I have a question about the Atom Smasher level. I keep missing one of the bombs. I take it it's hidden real well - or you have to do something to reveal it. Any hints?
I've gotten to the point where you go into the room with the reactor switches, and you kill the boss. The room outside that one has two scientists in a box - one of them diffuses the last bomb I know of. The other one keeps disappearing - and eventually, the place blows up because I haven't disarmed all of the bombs.
Help!

Well, if you're playing it on normal then you need to go through that giant door by "your last bomb" and around the corner and killa guy or two and then theres a ramp with a special op guy and it's on the upper level. You might have missed the one that you need to use the magnet on though. Also, Aztec on Normal was the most nerve racking experience I've had in a video game.

Go back to the long curvy hallway with the enemies and stuff... there are two doors, one on either side. The one you see first (on your right) going through the hall for the first time has a valve... the second a control panel. Hit the valve first (important) then use the panel... pick up the bomb and drop it into the big vat thing with the nuke symbol on the side. :)
I'm stuck in the Robot Factory now... Chris and I can do the whole level, but then we get stuck wtih nothing left to do and a solidly locked door. :(

24-Oct-2002, 17:15
You both have to be right next to the door, for the door next to it to close. It's real gay I know but that's what you have to do for a door that you don't notice next to it to close.

What do you mean? Like we both have to press against the locked door, so the other door behind it can close, THEN the locked door will open?
Bleargh, seems like the game has a few problems in Co-Op... I noticed getting the battle copter to appear in Siberia is also a bit buggy in Co-Op.

Any of you tried it on GspyTunnel yet?

Hmm. Well the copter obviously requires both characters to be up there, and there's a potential bug where player 2's location will get fudged (Chris's controls stopped working for a while, and after he had to go home, I got up to the top and nothing happened... I picked up his controller, turned it on (Wavebird), and it worked fine (yes he did have it on :P)... moved him up the dam, and nothing happened. I had to KILL his player to get the copter to appear...).
Oh well, could be a bug exclusive to the GCN version. Dunno.
Oh yeah and the controls work GREAT on GCN, except maybe secondary fire (Z).
Thanks, mk and Tag. I found the bomb and cleared the level. Also survived the Robot Factory (by a hair) and finally quit at the Space Station. Couldn't find my way out. :-?
Well, this weekend, then.

Well first off I assumee you did the part with the Env. Suits and the airlock (FUN!).
After using the vulcan cannons and completing that objective, run back in, and keep going until you reach a left-hand passage with miniguns at the end (WOOHOO). Follow that path, you'll reach the elevator the characters went up in the opening cinematic... it takes a LONG time to come up, but then go down it and jump in the ship :) You're done!
