Is an nGage worth it if I can get it for free?

I currently have a nokia 3300 (which I'm not overly excited about) and T-Mobile is offering an nGage for free for 1 year contract.

Are the games worth anything?

How well does it work as a phone?

everything is worth it if its for FREE..

no serieously , ngage is actually also a nice phone.. there are some nice games for it , but also a lot of free stuff since it shares the same series60 OS platform like a lot of other highend phones ..for ex:like the nokia6600

I disagree . With the ngage you have to use a head set at all times , it is very annoying and akward . I got one for selling the most preorders on the east coast (2 preorders) i used it for 2 days and then packed it away . Get a nice phone like the razor and then get a nintendo ds for better graphics hehe

Razr isn't free.

If you don't want your ngage, send it to me :)

is it the classic ngage or the QD they are giving away?

the classic has more features (mp3 player, fm radio) but the QD is a much better phone and you don't have to disasemble the unit to swap games. also, i heard the QD is mono (the original is stereo). i'm not sure how much of a difference that would affect you in games, but for music playback (there are 3rd party media apps for the ngage that allow you to play music on the QD) i'm pretty sure you'd notice.

i have an ngage (classic) but i don't have service for it. i use it for work (spreadsheets) and for a bit of emulation (GBC/NES/mame/genesis). i'm pretty pleased with it.

Its the QD.

I'm not too concerned about stereo, though.

Meh. If its free maybe I'll go take a look at it.

the QD is actualy a pretty slick phone. i'm thinking of picking one up since i rarely use the media capabilities of the ngage, i need a new cell phone, the size is better and the classic model makes you talk all goofy like you are eating some sort of wrong taco if you don't use a handsfree kit.

Is it the same size as the 3300?

Actually, my most pressing question is does the damn thing have a clock that is always there.

I use my phone as my watch, and the damn 3300 always decides to not show the wallpaper/time when I need it. ANd there's no way to force it to show the time.

grrrr.

i think the clock can be configured to always be shown. i use a screensaver.

Uck. I just noticed its 1900Mhz only.

Nope. Not gonna do it.

Russ, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory alone makes the N-Gage worth it IMO.

the ngage version of SC:CT and the NDS version will be mostly the same.

DS version will very likely be better, but he won't get the DS for free so..

oh, i know it will be better, i was speaking in terms of content not performance. in fact, i almost bought the ngage version but decided to sait for the nds release. it's funny, now that the ngage has been seriously outpaced (in terms of gaming, by the psp and DS) some decent titles start rolling out for it. i'm reasonibly ecited about snakes as well, but...
