September 2002 - Albatron Technology, a manufacturer of Motherboards and Graphics Cards announced the powerful MX480 Graphic Accelerator Card featuring nVIDIA’s exciting new MX440-8X (NV18) chipset. This GPU supports AGP8X which virtually doubles the bandwidth and performance of predecessor AGP4X based cards. Albatron has also included an L-footprint heat sink and an impressive fan for maximum area heat dissipation to compensate fro the heat generated by memories. The MX480 entry into the market appears to be well timed as the industry is beginning to phase in a new era of “AGP 8X Ready” mainboards to keep up with growing demands of the PC gaming industry.

The MX480 Graphics Accelerator Card comes with some very impressive specifications including a 512MHz memory clock, a 128bit Memory Bus, 64MB DDR memory and the memory bandwidth reaching to 8.2GB/sec. The core of this card used NV18 GPU whose clock speed of 275MHz also boasts a fill rate of 1.1billion texels/sec. as MX440. Comparing with MX440, the only difference is MX480 can supports AGP 8X. All of this will undoubtedly result in significant performance enhancements for PC games and other graphic intensive programs.

The MX480 employs nVIDIA’s Lightspeed Memory Architecture (LMA) II which is the latest installation of nVIDIA’s highly advanced image display technology designed to tackle high-bandwidth , high-intensity, continuous display graphics applications (i.e. PC games), capable of managing several programs simultaneously without skipping a beat. Accuview AntiAliasing (AA) Technology is also incorporated using advanced Multisampling and Anisotropic Filtering technologies to enhance the sharpness and quality of your images without the usual degradation of performance. It also owns the T & L (Transform & Lighting engine) II and VEP (Video Processing Engine) technology. Users may also choose to take advantage of nVIDIA’s nView Multidisplay Technlolgy which allows you to avoid” window stacking”, breaking out of your single monitor environment and expanding your desktop over several monitors. nView combines hardware and software to provide users with a variety of multiple display configurations using flat panels, analog CRTs, TVs all controlled by a user-friendly, intuitive software control interface.

Albatron continues to lead the way to incorporate the most recent, advanced technologies emerging from the graphics industry, The MX480, “AGP 8X Ready” Graphics Accelerator Card is the latest in a line of front runner products built for speed and aimed specifically at those with a need for high performance with reliable stability.

(beyond3d note):
The MX480 will have 275/512MHz core/mem, max 64MB ram, Twin-View, TV-out, DV-I and optional VIVO.
