Has anyone seen the new XBox version without NV2A fan & the Phillips DVD drive? I was wondering if the motherboard layout was different & if the GPU was being built on a new process.

It's not a new process or Nvidia and/or MS would have trumpeted it out. Probably just a bigger heatsink on it.

I've heard that the motherboard layout is a bit different as well. And that the Phillips drive is less prone to misalignment.

I heard they changed the layout to fight the current modchips and the pirated copies which you can on the Net...

Indeed, I read that the currect modchips out there don't work anymore with the new XBox...

Intresting to note that MS hired a hacker in order to secure it (or whatever they did there)...
