After the "will they/won't they" VIA debacle it seems ImgTec could be on the rise again. Not with their PC offerings but with the MBX chip. It seems Intel have licensed the MBX chip - probably for use in XScale designs (XScale is a high end version of the ARM chip originally developed by Digital).

Here (http://www.beyond3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=25707#25707) is the official ImgTec press release.

Here's (http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=4577) the Inquirer story.

It should also be noted that ImgTec are one of the very few techmark risers so far today!

"XScale is a high end version of the ARM chip originally developed by Digital"

surely more like...
"XScale is a high end version of the strong-ARM chip originally co-developed by ARM and Digital"
