Hi,
I hope I picked the right forum for this thread (otw, plz push).
My girlfriend has got a NV FX 5700 gfcard on which she's trying
to run ATI's Rendermonkey v1.5.347-RC0 (RM) . The card's telling
her being 100% capable of rendering OpenGL SL 2, but RM
crashes or doesn't show up anything (tested with RM test files
and own files).
She's using NVs 56.68 driver. OpenGL SL SDK isn't installed -
her prof says it's not necessary for running RM. OS is WinXP.
What's she doing wrong ? Can anyone help her out ?
Because I'm writing for my gf answering may last a bit longer ...
Thanx for your help ...
You're trying to use GLSL?
Applied the reg hack yet?
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\OpenGL\Debug]"ShaderObjects"=dword:00000001

Thx for your replies :D
What is it exactly with this reg edit ? And is it safe or may it junk
her system ?
Any other suggestions ? At cgtalk.com somebody reckoned an
older driver would help ...
That reg key enables the GLSL support. It won't junk the system. You need it on nVidia hardware to use GLSL since it's disabled by default.

Is the reg key also needed for ATI hardware ?
Is the reg key also needed for ATI hardware ?
Considering the key is [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\OpenGL\Debug]"ShaderObjects"=dword:00000001 I'd have to say no...
Is the reg key also needed for ATI hardware ?
No, it's been enabled by default for quite some time now in the ATI drivers.

BriT: I overlooked that part, but as you can see there's a similar reg key for the ATI hardware.
Humus: thanks for the info!

Thanx for your replies.
The regkey doesn't help, she had already fixed it. She had also tried
some drivers and i won't help too  ...
Plz help ...
There is a known issue with RenderMonkey 1.5 and the current public NVIDIA drivers. A fix for this problem will be available in a future driver.
Developers participating in our registered developer program will get access to drivers with the fix before public release. See our developer site for details: http://developer.nvidia.com/page/registered_developer_program.html
